The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind was written by Dr Joseph Murphy in 1963. In this book, the author teaches us that the most valuable gift we have is our subconscious mind. We have two types of minds, they are:

Conscious mind:

The conscious mind is responsible for the activities like planning, decision making and voluntary actions. It is active only when we are awake.

Subconscious mind:

But the subconscious mind is active even when we are sleeping. It is responsible for almost all activities. It controls all the involuntary actions like breathing, blood circulation, digestion, etc.

The subconscious mind is reactive and magnifies what is inside it. It cannot distinguish between positive and negative thought. The subconscious mind is similar to a highly fertile field. The thoughts are the seed and the conscious mind is the watchman. Our conscious mind must block the negative thoughts and admit the positives. Intelligence for the subconscious mind is infinite. It can give a solution to any problem. The author talks about many real incidents in this book. One of the most striking one was related to the invention of benzene. Stradonitz was an organic chemist, he was struggling with a chemical structure for an organic compound. One day he had a dream about a snake biting its own tail, and suddenly he got an idea about a cyclic compound.

The author says that controlling the subconscious mind not as easy as controlling the conscious mind author suggestion methods like

Repetition:

Our subconscious mind is wired in such a way that things more repeated is accepted as truth. It cannot identify whether it is real or faked. We are the result of our dominant thoughts. The author says that fill our mind with positive things.

what we think, we become — Buddha

Visualisation:

Always visualise your dream and feel like you have already achieved that dream. Our subconscious mind thinks it is real and it works towards that goal. Visualisation is more powerful because our subconscious is more sensitive to images.

Everything is created twice, first in the mind and then in reality. ― Robin S. Sharma.

Suggestion/Prayer:

Our prayer is the instruction to our subconscious. If our prayer is sincere then we get the proper results. Prayer is not whispering of words but it should originated from our mind, then only we get result.

I used to believe that prayer changes things, but now i know that prayer changes us, and we change things — Mother Teresa

As the author says “Busy your mind with the concepts of harmony, health, peace, and good will, and wonders will happen in your life”
