A Journey to Ikigai

I was one who searched for the meaning of life for the last few years. I wasn’t aware of what the meaning of life was. I read more books and did things I found interesting. I tried different things, but I still didn’t get my answer.

But today day, I finally got the answer. I met a guy called Benoy during his visit to our office for two days. Over those two days, we had a lot of conversations, both official and casual. Today, he said to me, “I feel a bit jealous of you.”

Curious, I asked him why. He replied, “You’re living life to the fullest. You do what you like, get paid for what you like, have time to ride your bike, and spend quality time with your family, etc.”

Suddenly, the term I had read, “Ikigai,” came to my mind. It represents the intersection of four fundamental elements: what you love, what you are good at, what the world needs, and what you can be rewarded for.

Now, I realize that I am one who is blessed to be living in alignment with my ikigai. Each and every minute of my life is meaningful.

In the pursuit of meaning, sometimes we search far and wide, only to discover that the answers we seek were within us all along. Alternatively, there may be individuals like Benoy who come into our lives and open our eyes to the truths we were overlooking.
